journey: Cuando haces un journey, vas de un lugar a otro, a veces muy lejos.

travel: Normalmente se usa la palabra travel como verbo y significa que vas de viaje.

We travel to work by bus.

I love traveling.

Cuando se usa travel como sustantivo, se refiere a la actividad general de viajar.
